On Thursday, May 3rd, the HSAY Young Hawks robotics team made a visit to City Hall to meet with Youngstown Mayor Jamael Tito Brown. The team members explained how their robot works and even showed him how to use it! They explained how they competed all year at different competitions from regional qualifiers to state competitions to the world championship. They did a demonstration of the tasks they had to perform at the championship, and told him how they had one of the only robots that could move side to side as well as back and forth. One of the highlights for our team was meeting students from all over the world who shared their interest in robotics. They also showed off their medals that they received for participating in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, KY.
We would like to thank Mayor Brown and his staff for having our students visit. We want to show the world what students from Youngstown, Ohio can do!
