Five Teams Going to State

Horizon Science Academy Youngstown will be well represented at the VEX Robotics state championship on March 9th in Marion, Ohio. HSAY has a total of five teams that will vie for a spot in the national championship, including three middle school and two elementary teams. Our Young Hawks robotics team will be competing against 30 other qualifying teams for the state championship. They will be competing in the Teamwork Challenge, the Robot Skills Challenge, and the Programming Skills Challenge. Scores will determine who will qualify for the VEX Robotics World Championship, which is the largest robot competition in the world.

VEX Robotics provides students ages 8 through 14 with exciting, open-ended robotics engineering and research challenges that engage students and enhance their science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills through hands-on, student centered learning. VEX Robotics has over 20,000 teams across 50 countries.

Good luck to the Young Hawks team!
