Robotics Team Going to World Championship

On Friday, February 23rd, the HSAY Young Hawks robotics team competed at the VEX IQ Robotics state competition in Marion, Ohio. Having just released the final state competition scores, we learned that one of our teams earned the highest score in the state of Ohio!

That qualified us for an invitation to the 2018 VEX World Championship. The championship will take place on Sunday, April 29th in Louisville, KY. There will be over 400 teams competing from all over the world.

VEX Competitions bring STEM skills to life by tasking teams of students with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels and culminate at the VEX Robotics World Championship each April!

Congratulations to our robotics team – Solomon Kennedy, Travis Jackson, Marcus Carbon, Kewon Allen, Cahmani Davis, and Joshua Ortiz! The Young Hawks are coached by Mr. Ozbey.
