On Thursday, January 25th, HSAY held its annual 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science fair. Our middle school students have been working hard over the past few months to get ready for the science fair. Students researched experiments, projects, and scientific questions and chose the one they wanted to work on. From there, they created poster boards with all of the information to show. Some of the projects included “Homemade Volcano” “How Does Caffeine Affect Heart Rate” “How to Make a Lava Lamp” “Does Caffeine Help Plant Growth” “Does Music Affect Heart Rate” and many more! We are very proud of the work that our middle school students put into this year’s science fair!
Community members came in to judge the science fair. Judges included members from the Youngstown Police Department, staff family members, teachers, etc. Each student presented their information and performed their experiment or showed their final results. Thank you to all of our judges for spending the day with us!
Awards were given for the best of class in each grade level. An award was also given for Best Design and Overall Winner. Congratulations to all of our winners!
